Loving the Stay at Home Mom

Being a stay at home mom is in no way a picnic. The hours are long and the work can be very hard. Here are some ideas to show stay at home moms how much you appreciate what they do, because they do a lot (cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting, laundry, and playing, teaching, and disciplining kids)

1. Give her a break.
-Watch the kids for a couple of hours so she can have some time to herself. It's not easy for moms to get a moment of peace when at home with the kids.

2. Cook Dinner
-With all the things that moms do through out the day, having someone else take care of dinner can relieve a lot of stress.

3. Do the laundry
-This might be one that is a personal favorite of mine. I hate doing laundry, so I love it when my husband takes it one for me. You can take on whatever chore your stay at mom doesn't enjoy doing. Maybe it's dishes, or vacuuming. Whatever it is, it will be appreciated.

4. Let her talk
-If she has been home with the kids all day, without any adult contact, let her talk about her day. She needs to feel like her thoughts and feelings matter and if you don't let her talk she might feel neglected.

5. Tell her you love her
-This is important. She needs to know that you love and appreciate all the work that she puts in to run a household. It's not an easy job, but it's an important job. Let her know that she does a good job.

These are just a few things. They won't even cost you a dime to do. Just a little time and effort. These things can make a huge difference to the mom in your life.
